Will Coldplay Break Records by Performing in Ahmedabad?

Coldplay a Grammy award-winning band announced their dates for bringing ‘Music of the Spheres’ world tour to India, for which the tickets went live on 22nd, September which was a Sunday. 

Fans are extremely excited about the concert happening on the 18th and 19th of January, 2025 at the D.Y Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai. Also, an announcement was released by the band on ‘X’ in which they stated that they are adding one more day for their Mumbai tour for which the tickets will be released on 22nd November. 

On Sunday the 22nd tickets were released at 12 pm and as soon as they were released there was a lot of traffic on the site people were allowed to take 4 tickets and on ‘BookMyShow’ the tickets were released at 2 pm. People were eager to buy the tickets and were opening the website on many devices. People wanted the tickets by hook or by crook. Those who got the tickets immediately showed their happiness on social media platforms. 

Fans are going crazy over tickets and those who haven’t gotten the tickets yet are finding an alternative and asking everyone they know if they have the tickets. 

Now there’s a reality which most of us often miss: the reality of ‘FOMO’, an abbreviation for ‘Fear Of Missing Out.’  

On one hand, there are these die-hard fans who have been big supporters of Coldplay and are aware of everything they do, whereas on the other hand, there are people who have heard about Coldplay but they don’t even recognize any member of the band or their songs, still some of these people gave in FOMO, they bought the tickets because they wanted to prove “a point.”  

On social media platforms, attending the Coldplay concert is exaggerated and made to be seen like it’s everything a person should want. Now we humans are influenced quickly and most of us gave into the tendency of buying the tickets just because others would post about the concert and we would be left in the dark. This tendency fuels sellers to take advantage of FOMO because people are desperate to buy the tickets they would do anything for just one ticket. 

Many people sold 35k tickets for a lakh, they took advantage of the vulnerability of the people. 

In this digital age, there are a lot of scams happening, the scammers or for that matter even the sellers understand this mindset of people where they’ll buy the tickets just so that they don’t feel left out. And the sad reality is that people do fall prey to this. People pay double the price, and they get excited but in the end, the result is not a desired one and they blame it on the management of the artist or trusted websites when they buy it from untrusted websites or people. 

There’s a good news for fans that there might be another concert in Ahmedabad, Narendra Modi Stadium, this news was released, the fans are excited seeing this news but at the same they have their doubts regarding the authenticity of this news. Now we all are waiting with bated breathes for this unofficial announcement to become official. Everyone has only one question in their mind will this British band be able to break records?
