A poem recited to a college friend.
To,
Nargis.
I have met a free spirit With enchanting eyes that gleam and glow,
A dusky warmth that can fill up an entire show.
And a dimpled smile that can melt away the coldest snow.
I have met a free spirit The one that sparkles from within With kindness that grows like a steady flame And a magnetic energy that draws you gently in
I have met a free spirit Amongst the caged and bound Unbothered by the frets that hold others down Counting bliss in every passing moment
I have met a free spirit The one that dances through the mess
A laughter alike the most awaited rain A being that is so untamed
I have met a free spirit The one that is deeply kind A rare beauty that is very hard to find Living freely and mostly wild
I have met a free spirit The one who inspires with every word Whose presence makes a whole being stirred
To discover the world in ways unheard.
